£2m of performance efficiencies in a Local Authority
This Local Authority needed to improve departmental performance and deliver efficiencies. They chose MCW Precision as their delivery partner.
Efficiencies worth £2m were delivered. In addition, the department was retained in-house instead of being outsourced. There was a major change in culture and the way people “felt about their work and how they operated as a department.” The MCW Precision consultant assigned was described by our client as “excellent” and was so successful that he was asked to take on another project once the first was completed.
The client: Our client told us that at the outset of the project the department “wasn’t particularly well thought of… as well as being heavily over spent.” For him, the project’s success was down to our approach in being “systematic in looking at a number of the core issues.”
The ex-military leader: Our consultant, Mark, felt that his value to this client came from his in-depth knowledge of process, policy and procedures as well what he brought in terms of leadership style. On a career front, he told us “the transition period helps you get used to the different work environment where unlike the army no-one tells you what to do.” He reflected that without the transitional role “it would be a lot a harder to be where I am now.”
